IRDye infrared dyes from LI-COR Biosciences are available for researchers developing applications using near-infrared (NIR) fluorescence. These unique dyes are used in a variety of NIR imaging applications including Western blotting, plate-based assays, protein arrays, tissue section imaging, and molecular activity measurements. Standard NHS ester chemistry is used to produce custom probes labeled with LI-COR IRDye infrared dyes. The NHS ester reactive group provides the functionality for labeling primary and secondary amines, such as lysine residues in proteins.

Dojindo Molecular Technologies Inc DALGreen – Autophagy Detection (20 nmol)
DALGreen is used to detect autophagy in live cells. Autophagy is an intracellular degradation system, where dysfunctional proteins and organelles are degraded. In this process, aggregated dysfunctional proteins are surrounded by the double membrane to form an autophagosome. DALGreen, which is a small hydrophobic molecule, passes the plasma membrane of live cells and is incorporated in the autophagosome. After lysosomes fuse with the autophagosome, the environment in the autolysosome becomes acidic. DALGreen fluoresces stronger as acidity increases. The quality of this dye enables live-cell imaging with fluorescence microscopy and quantitative assay by flow cytometry. Excitation and emission spectra of DALGreen: (λex: 405 nm, λem: 525 nm). Understanding lysosome-related physiology requires lysosome-specific probes that can track the behavior of lysosomes within cells. As a consequence of being designed simply to target acidic environments, most lysosomal probes have poor specificity towards the lysosome and stain many non-lysosomal acidic compartments. Moreover, existing lysosome probes’ fluorescent intensity is highly reliant on the lysosomes’ pH; their emission intensity is unstable and varies significantly due to differences in acidity among lysosomes, even within a cell. CF dyes are Biotium's line of next-generation fluorescent dyes with advantages in brightness, photostability, and conjugate specificity compared to other fluorescent dyes.
